A Collaborative Video Exploring Grief with Izzy McEvoy

Izzy’s Artist-Led Session invited participants to respond to a list of prompts via the medium of video or moving image. Responses could be as direct or indirect, literal, or abstract as we liked.

Thinking about how they might correspond to our practice/s (or not).

We each captured 5-minutes of footage, which ranged from 5-minute monologue recordings to multiple short clips using archive or purposely made footage. Initially we met to explore and discuss the workshop as an introductory session to establish and share different approaches for making and gathering footage as well as a method to edit.

Prompts:

The following questions were considered to act as prompts:

• What is grief?

• What does it look like?

• How does it feel?

• What does it sound like?

• How do you process it? (Consider how this manifests in your practice)
